A Real-World Testbed
Before recommending systems to clients, we prefer to live with them ourselves.
Get Lost, our independently operated micro resort, serves as a living testbed where ideas are continuously evaluated under actual operating conditions. Not in a showroom. Not in a controlled lab. In a property with guests, staff, weather, maintenance requirements, changing occupancy, and all the unpredictability that comes with daily operation.
Our systems aren't tested by perfect demonstrations. They're tested by guests arriving late after long drives. By staff preparing spaces before sunrise. By storms, power interruptions, equipment failures, and the countless surprises that happen when a property operates every day.
Many of the systems we recommend have already spent years being refined there.
Sustainability Through Integration
Rather than relying on individual products to solve problems, we focus on how systems work together:
Solar Production Influencing Loads: Energy-intensive tasks can be scheduled around solar availability, allowing more renewable energy to be used directly instead of drawing from storage or external sources.
Water Usage Monitoring: Flow rates, tank levels, and equipment performance can reveal unusual consumption patterns and potential issues before they become operational problems.
Lighting Adapting to Occupancy: Lighting can respond to how spaces are actually being used, improving efficiency while maintaining comfort and atmosphere.
Equipment Operating Only When Needed: Pumps, filtration systems, ventilation equipment, and other infrastructure can respond to real conditions rather than fixed schedules, reducing energy consumption and equipment wear.
Energy Storage Reducing Generator Dependence: Battery systems can absorb fluctuations, support critical loads, and reduce the need for fuel-powered backup generation during shorter outages.
